About
Military service comes with experiences, responsibilities, relationships, and a culture that can be difficult to explain to someone who hasn’t lived it. Dr. Lugo Steidel brings that firsthand understanding to his work as a psychologist and executive coach.
Meet Dr. Angel Lugo Steidel,
Ph.D., MBA, ACC
Psychologist. Veteran. Leader. Executive Coach.
Dr. Angel Lugo Steidel has spent nearly three decades working in psychology, behavioral health, military service, organizational leadership, and executive coaching.
His experience has taken him from military operations and clinical settings to healthcare leadership and organizational consulting.
Having served in the military and held leadership roles himself, he understands the challenges that come with responsibility, difficult decisions, and major life transitions.
He brings that experience, along with his clinical training, to helping people understand where they are and figure out how to move forward.
Experience That Brings a Broader Perspective
Military
Dr. Lugo Steidel served as a clinical and operational psychologist in the U.S. Navy, including a deployment with the Army to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. That firsthand experience gives him an understanding of military culture that can’t come from clinical training alone.
Clinical
His career includes extensive experience in clinical and forensic psychology, psychological evaluations, and trauma treatment. That depth of experience helps him look beyond a single symptom or diagnosis to understand the larger picture of what may be going on.
Leadership
As Chief Clinical Officer at Western State Hospital, Dr. Lugo Steidel led multidisciplinary clinical services involving more than 300 employees. He understands firsthand the responsibilities, pressures, and difficult decisions that can come with leadership.
Operational Psychology & Coaching
Dr. Lugo Steidel has also worked as an operational psychologist for a federal agency, providing leadership development, executive coaching, resilience, and organizational consultation. That experience brings an understanding of how psychological health, leadership, work, and performance can intersect.
